Minnesota Valley Photography Club (MVPC) was founded in 1984. It has a membership of over 80+ individuals representing all ages, backgrounds, interest, and levels of experience. They all have a common interest in photography and a desire to expand their photographic skills.
MVPC’s goals are to provide fellowship, continuing education, and the appreciation of the science, technique, and art of photography. Each monthly meeting consists of an educational program and monthly competitions based on theme and open categories. Competitions alternate between Digital Projections (Color & Monochrome) and Prints (Color & Monochrome).
MVPC celebrates an annual awards ceremony each June – a time to celebrate the following:
- Photographer of the Year in each salon
- Distinguished Photographer (Shutter-Bug) Award
- Photograph of the Year in each salon
- Dick Sheidler Memorial Award
- Mark Freier Service Award
- Other Service Tenure awards
See Salon Rules for information on the Dick Sheidler Memorial Award, Mark Freier Service Award and Service Awards Policy for details.
