One of the best ways to improve your photography is to have your own photos critiqued with suggestions on how to improve your photo. MVPC offers two approaches to this.
Part of MVPC’s general meeting is devoted to salons. Each meeting has six salons: Color Topic, Color Open, Monochrome Topic, Monochrome Open, Novice Topic and Novice Open. The monthly salons alternate between prints and projected digital images. The topics are determined the previous year by club vote. Members submit photos for the salon to be judged and critiqued by an experienced photographer from outside the club.
The second approach for critique of your images is available for members to enter competitions offered by TCACCC (Twin Cities Area Council of Camera Clubs), N4C (North Central Camera Club Council, and PSA (Photographic Society of America).
