Introducing Road Trippin’

Road Trippin’ will be road trips around MN, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The idea is to find locations close enough to do a day trip. Our first road trip will be at the ForestVille Ghost Town.

This is a state park that has quite a few interesting buildings. The site will be closed, but they allow self-guided visits. The only drawbacks are that the buildings themselves will be closed. On the plus side, other than paying the State Park admission fee, you will not need to pay the separate fee for the ghost town.

The plan will be to leave Burnsville at 9:00AM. The drive is approximately 2 hours and 16 minutes. We can find lunch in the area, and then spend the afternoon in the park

Photographer’s Playground mini-workshops are free events. See what is coming up in the Photographer’s Playground and join us in one of these events to learn more about us, Don and our club.

On Saturday, Don led a trip to the Forestville ghost town maintained by the Minnesota Historical Society in Forestville State Park.

It was interesting, I haven’t been there before, so I used Google maps. Google kept wanting to take me across a bridge that signs on the road said was out. I drove around back roads and thought I’d come in from the other side. Eventually I arrived and found the bridge out was right at the destination, and there was pedestrian bridge from the opposite side, so it wouldn’t have been a problem. – Bob Tourdot
